Hunter’s Hut is our authentic “bunkhouse” cabin, beloved by hunters and small groups seeking rustic comfort with true frontier character. Restored with care, this cabin features four twin beds, each dressed in down bedding and vintage camp trading blankets 🛏️🪶. Every bed has its own screened window and electrified reading lantern, giving each guest a cozy personal nook.
Inside, the cabin glows with homestead charm:

Our land sits in the spectacular Copper Valley, adjacent to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, and on the original site of the historic Chistochina Roadhouse. This is adventure country. Wander the trail to the Beaver Dam 🦫, fish the Copper River 🎣, or simply soak in the peace of wide-open, unpopulated space. Guests return again and again for the spirit of the Roadhouse — meals by the fire, stories shared with fellow travelers, and deep, restorative sleep before the next day’s adventure.

Your cabin includes its own bath, and all guests also enjoy access to our extraordinary bathhouse — the grandest north of the 49th parallel. Built in 2007 from naturally aged logs recovered after an Alaskan forest fire, this handcrafted log structure features:

Short-term stays
Guests receive a full refund if they cancel 24 hours or more before the scheduled check-in time. The Host doesn’t get paid for the booking.
If the Guest cancels after the check-in time, the Host will be paid for each night the Guest does stay, plus 1 full additional night.
Long-term stays (28+ nights)
Guests receive a full refund if they cancel 28 days or more before the scheduled check-in time. The Host doesn’t get paid for the booking.
If the Guest cancels after the 28-days-prior point, the Host will be paid 100% for each night the Guest does stay, plus 50% of 30 additional, unused nights. The Host is paid 100% for all of the remaining nights if fewer than 30 unused nights are left on the reservation when the Guest cancels (to a maximum of the equivalent of 50% of 30 nights).
